Northfield Flat Top Octave - Italian Spruce/ Black Walnut

A wonderful octave mandolin just in from our friends at Northfield. Beautiful deep, rich tone with a charming organic/woody pop behind the notes. Lightly built with a lively and resonant response this is an octave that is in no way muddy (like some can tend to be) and will stand out in any ensemble of instruments. Even though this is a powerful and deep toned instrument it has a beautiful delicate quality to the sound that inspires playing with greater dynamics. The factory set up is very comfortable and easy to play. It has been pretty hard for us to put down!

Italian Spruce top, Black Walnut back/sides/neck/bridge/fretboard, spirit varnish finish, tortoise binding, Gotoh tuners, clear pick guard, 22" scale length, 1-13/32" nut width, radiused fretboard. Comes with a very nice fiberglass hardshell case from Northfield.
