This is our first Model M from Northfield and to say that we are impressed is an understatement. This mandolin easily holds it's own with instruments costing much, much more. The tone has a beautiful depth and complexity while still retaining amazing clarity and note separation. A quality found in only the finest mandolins. While somewhat simply appointed, this instrument is absolutely gorgeous and we doubt the pictures do it justice. The highly flamed dark back and sides just pop against the amber top, and of course the fit and finish are top level. The setup is perfect and exemplifies Northfield's reputation for buttery playability. Special Engelmann spruce top, highly flamed maple back/sides/neck, varnish finish, Nugget tailpiece, ebony adjustable bridge, ebony fretboard, Gotoh nickel tuners with black buttons, 1-1/8" bone nut, radiused fretboard. Comes with a Northfield Airloom Recurve case.
