The Northfield Calhoun model was introduced as a more budget friendly option, and while it certainly is that, it is so much more! This little mandolin has a tone that is all its own and it sounds absolutely wonderful. It has a beautiful, woody tonal character with a great bass response and a lively pop in the high end. It may even be better suited to solo mandolin playing styles than an F5! The set up is low and easy and it is a joy to play all the way up the neck. Its very hard to imagine a mandolin that gives more "bang for the buck" than this.
Spruce top, maple back/sides/neck, maple pick guard, walnut fretboard, walnut adjustable bridge, spirit varnish finish, one piece cast tailpiece, Gotoh tuners, adjustable truss rod, radiused fretboard, 1-1/8" bone nut.
