KR Strings Octolindo Scholar
KR Strings Octolindo Scholar
From Hawaiian builder Kilin Reece, this may very well be the best overall value in an octave mandolin on the market today. Absolutely beautiful materials and craftsmanship throughout, this a professional level instrument in every way. The tone is deep and beautiful but still maintains excellent clarity and balance in each register, which is a fairly elusive quality in the world of octave mandolins. The set up is very comfortable and we find this instrument to be equally suitable for playing both chords and melody lines. A lovely instrument that will certainly hold its own with those costing much more.
Engelmann spruce top, mahogany back/sides/neck, ebony fretboard and bridge/bridge pins, hardwood binding, 21-1/2" scale length, radiused fretboard, 1.38" nut width. Comes with a deluxe gig bag from KR Strings.
