A brand new Ellis F5 Special just in from our good friends just down the road in Austin. This is an absolutely stunning example in every way. Even though this mandolin is brand new, it already exhibits some of the tonal characteristics of a much more mature instrument. Beautiful, rich and complex tone with crystal clear note separation and perfect balance. It is both powerful and delicate, responding as beautifully to a light touch as it does to more vigorous playing. And of course, it is drop dead gorgeous. The artistry and attention to detail on display with this instrument are second to none. A masterpiece of an F5 mandolin from one of the greatest builders of our time.
