Just in from our good friends down the road at the Ellis workshop, an A5 mandolin that makes us go weak in the knees! In our opinion, mandolins just don't get much better than this. The perfect display of power, depth, clarity, and balance all in an absolutely gorgeous package. Responsive to just the lightest touch, it also unveils new layers of tonality when played with dynamics. Buttery smooth playability in every register, losing no tone or volume when played up the neck. This is a true heirloom quality instrument from one of the greatest builder of the modern mandolin era.

Ellis' "special grade" woods, Adirondack spruce top, Sugar maple back/sides/neck, varnish finish, fully bound (top, back, sides, neck, headstock) in triple tortoise binding, tapered varnish speed neck, gold Waverly tuners w/ebony buttons, gold engraved custom James tailpiece, Ellis' custom "Deco" pearl headstock inlay and headstock shaping, Ellis made full contact ebony bridge w/gold wheels, ebony fretboard with pearl block position markers, tortoise bound ebony pick guard, ebony endpin with pearl eye, gold EVO frets, radiused fretboard, 1-1/8" nut width. Comes with a custom Calton case bearing the Ellis logo.
