Ellis A5 Special - Cremona Brown

Just in from our good friends down the road at the Ellis workshop, a mandolin that comes just about as close to perfection as we can imagine. Obviously the aesthetic properties on display are second to none, but the TONE is the real star of the show here. A beautiful lush warmth with all of the complexity one could hope for in an instrument that still maintains the highest levels of power, articulation, and balance. Ultra responsive to the lightest touch with a beautiful delicate character, it also unveils more layers of tonality with a slight adjustment in technique. A very rewarding experience for the player that enjoys shifting dynamics. This is truly an instrument that would be just as impressive playing solo classical pieces as it would in a parking lot bluegrass jam.
