2023 Ellis F5 Custom Special

2023 Ellis F5 Special in pristine condition. If there are any signs of prior use on this instrument, we haven't been able to find them. It still looks brand new.

This mandolin was ordered with some custom features including a "torrified" Adirondack top and a custom "Flourish" fretboard inlay pattern in very colorful pearl that extends all the way up to the 17th fret. There is also an additional side dot added at the 17th fret. The fern in the headstock inlay is also extremely colorful.

This is an absolutely stunning mandolin in both aesthetics and sound! Loud and powerful, yet also sweet and nuanced, this is a "total package" F5. The responsiveness of this instrument allows for the player to get a big, bold sound with minimal effort. Just the lightest touch produces ample volume to be heard in an ensemble, while increasing the pick attack rewards with a wonderful array of dynamics. Crisp, clear note definition and cutting power supported by a beautiful complex warmth behind every note. The set up is perfect and the mandolin plays buttery smooth in all positions with no issues whatsoever. Incredible balance in every register, this instrument loses nothing when played in the upper positions. A truly special mandolin!
