2025 Collings MT2V - Italian Spruce

2025 Collings MT2V in excellent condition. What very minor signs of prior use that there are take extremely close scrutiny to notice.

An incredible POWERHOUSE of a mandolin! We have always been huge fans of Collings' varnish mandolins and a big part of that reason is their tendency to provide an extra level of volume and responsiveness compared to the lacquer models. This particular mandolin puts that into the next gear, and does so while still retaining an absolutely beautiful and almost delicate quality to the tone. Very rewarding to the player that uses dynamics and alternates between a light touch and more vigorous playing. Deep and rich tone yet still exhibits incredible cutting power. It is quite rare for a mandolin to have this much power and still have such a beautiful, nuanced tone. Certainly one of the finest instruments to come through our shop, and of course it is drop-dead gorgeous!

Italian spruce top, Eastern flamed maple back/sides/neck, honey amber varnish finish, fully bound in tortoise triple binding, radiused ebony fretboard with pearl position markers, ebony adjustable bridge with full contact base, ebony pick guard with tortoise binding, Gotoh tuners, engraved cast tailpiece, adjustable truss rod with ebony cover plate, 1-1/8" bone nut. Original hardshell case included.
