2020 Pava A5 Pro Custom (#372) in excellent condition. Very little evidence of prior ownership. This mandolin was custom made for and belongs to the Ellis/Pava shop manager and we are offering it for sale on their behalf.
This is an absolutely beautiful instrument in both sound and aesthetic, with some amazing one-of-a-kind custom features. Perhaps thanks to the fully torrified body (the only completely torrified Pava ever made), this mandolin has a wide-open tonal character with maturity that contradicts its age and playing time. Crisp, seasoned clarity with a beautiful lush depth that rings out like a bell in every position. Perfect balance across the strings as well as up and down the fretboard. Power and volume to be heard in any ensemble of instruments, and enough complexity to make for a wonderful solo mandolin sound. The mandolin was just set up by Tom Ellis and plays perfectly in all positions with no issues whatsoever. A warranty will be in place for the new owner.
Torrified Adirondack spruce top, Torrified Red maple back/sides/neck (one piece back), varnish finish, custom pearl cowgirl and rose headstock inlay, fully bound with custom rope top binding, radiused ebony fretboard with custom horseshoe position markers, ebony pickguard with rope binding and pearl rose inlay, Gotoh tuners with vintage sea snail buttons, James tailpiece, ebony adjustable "full contact" bridge, adjustable truss rod with pearl cover plate, ebony endpin with pearl eye, 1-1/8" bone nut. Comes with a custom red sparkle Calton case, also in excellent condition. *we are offering this mandolin for our friend - please inquire about payment methods prior to purchase.
