2020 Ellis A5 Custom "Deco" Deluxe

2020 Ellis A5 in excellent plus condition. Any signs of prior use take extremely close scrutiny to notice. We sold this mandolin brand new in 2020 to the customer we got it back from (he traded up to an Ellis F5) and he kept it in immaculate condition. This is Tom Ellis' "Deco" configuration featuring his custom art deco headstock inlay, an art deco headstock shape, and pearl block position markers. 

While the mandolin is only three years old and appears unplayed, it has an incredibly mature tone with many of the characteristics present in a well "played in" instrument. Crisp, clear note definition across the strings and up and down the fretboard while exhibiting a wonderful complex depth in the tone. This is a powerful instrument with the volume to be heard over any ensemble of instruments but it also responds beautifully to just the lightest touch. Perfect balance from low to high and all the way up the neck.

Adirondack top, Red maple back/sides/neck, varnish finish, fully bound in grained ivoroid with w/b/w on top, back, and peg head, ebony "full contact" adjustable bridge, radiused ebony fretboard with pearl block position markers, Waverly tuners with grained ivoroid buttons, engraved James tailpiece, triple bound ebony pick guard, custom art deco pearl headstock inlay, adjustable truss rod with ebony cover plate, ebony endpin with pearl eye, 1-1/8" bone nut. Comes with a custom light blue/dark blue Calton case bearing the Ellis logo on the plating (in like new condition).
