2018 Ellis A5 Special

2018 Ellis A5 Special in excellent condition. Very few signs of prior ownership, which require close scrutiny to notice.

An absolutely incredible instrument from one of the best builders of our time, this is a true "do everything" mandolin. It has the raw power to stand out in any ensemble of instruments with a crisp pop to every note, balanced out by a beautiful rich and complex voice. This instrument would be equally impressive playing solo Bach pieces as it would in a parking lot bluegrass jam. Unsurpassed note separation and perfect balance both across the strings as well as up and down the fretboard. Ultra responsive to just the lightest of touch, it gives up a lot of power and volume with minimal effort. Alternatively, it maintains its beautiful voice and balance when played with a more aggressive attack. Buttery smooth playability with a perfect set-up, and just to round things out..it is drop dead gorgeous. This is as good as it gets!
