2018 Collings MT2V

2018 Collings MT2V in excellent condition. There are a few small dings but nothing noticeable without up close examination, and certainly nothing that detracts from the absolute beauty of this instrument. 

We have long been huge fans of Collings' varnish mandolins and this instrument is a shining example of just why we love them. This is a super responsive mandolin with a "light and airy" quality that is hard to describe. It is incredibly powerful, but has a beautiful sweetness to the tone that could almost be described as delicate. Responds to just the lightest of touch, but will also handle an aggressive attack. The balance across the strings, as well as up and down the neck is superb and it loses no tone or power in any playing position. The set up is to exact Collings shop specifications and the mandolin plays beautifully in all positions with no issues whatsoever. Speaking of playability, this mandolin was given a speed neck (no finish) by Collings and the neck feels like silk in the hand!

Italian spruce top, Birdseye maple back/sides/neck, varnish finish, Cremona sunburst stain, radiused ebony fretboard with descending pearl position markers, fully bound in triple w/b/w binding, bound ebony pick guard, etched cast tailpiece, ebony "full contact" adjustable bridge, Waverly tuning machines w/pearl buttons, ebony endpin w/pearl eye, 1-1/8" bone nut. Comes with a Collings TKL Deluxe hardshell case.
