2014 Ellis F5

2014 Ellis F5 in excellent condition. There are some sparse/light signs of use here and there, most notable is a small bit of thumb wear on the neck (pictured).

An absolute powerhouse F5 mandolin with a beautiful rich and complex voice. A perfect balance of deep warmth and crisp articulation, this is a mandolin that fills up a room even when played with a light touch. Very responsive yet can also handle more aggressive picking, rewarding the player with layers of tonality and dynamics. This is a true "desert island" instrument that would be just as home in a parking lot bluegrass jam as it would playing Bach pieces in a grand auditorium. Set up with a low and comfortable action, it plays wonderfully in all positions with no issues whatsoever. 

Adirondack spruce top, Sugar maple back/sides/neck (one piece back), varnish finish, fully bound in triple binding, bound ebony pick guard, radiused ebony fretboard, Waverly tuners, engraved James tailpiece, ebony adjustable "full contact" bridge, 1-1/8" bone nut. Calton case included.
