2013 Gibson F5-G

2013 Gibson F5G in very good condition. It shows some minor play wear in the form of some dings and scratches but nothing outside the scope of an instrument that has been in constant service for 12 years. There is a light imprint in the finish where the bridge was in the slightly wrong position for several years.

This is an absolute powerhouse F5! If you are looking for a deep and woody sounding mandolin, you could look a long time before encountering a mandolin that does it this well. The depth is somewhat like that of an oval hole mandolin, but it still retains the sharp cutting power of an F hole instrument. This is a very powerful mandolin, and even with its powerful voice it retains great balance across the strings and up and down the neck.

This instrument has been professionally "modded" a bit in some very cool ways: the fingerboard extension removed to prevent pick click, the finish has been removed from the neck for a "speed neck, the frets were just replaced with slightly larger (and more comfortable) fret wire, and a Cumberland Acoustics bridge has been installed. The mandolin is set up perfectly and plays incredibly well in all positions with no issues. Flat fretboard, 1-1/16" nut width. Comes with a very nice Bobelock "Arrow" fiberglass case.
