2013 Gibson F-5G

2013 Gibson F5G in excellent condition. There are some sparse finish blemishes here and there, and a little bit of finish indentation around the bridge from it previously being misplaced, but the mandolin is in great shape for being in constant service for over a decade.

This is a true powerhouse mandolin and by far has the most depth of any F5G we have had come through the shop over the years, and we have had a lot. HUGE chop, with a powerful woody knock behind each note. This mandolin is firmly in the camp of the traditional dry Gibson F5 tone, but with an added depth that somewhat hints of that of an oval hole mandolin. Rich and full solo mandolin experience with ample cutting power to slice through an ensemble (I know because I have been playing it with a five piece bluegrass band with a single mic setup). This is a hard hitting F5! We just performed a full setup and the mandolin plays wonderfully in all positions with no issues whatsoever.

Spruce top, maple back/sides/neck, nitrocellulose lacquer full gloss finish, traditional Gibson specs, ivoroid top binding, flowerpot headstock inlay, Grover tuners w/pearl buttons, flat rosewood fretboard with pearl position markers, adjustable rosewood bridge, Gibson engraved tailpiece, adjustable truss rod, 1-1/16" pearl nut. Comes with a Bobelock Arrow fiberglass case.
