2008 Gibson F-9

2008 Gibson F-9 in good condition. Shows considerable play wear in the form of dings, scratches, and finish abrasions but is structurally excellent with no prior repairs other than a recent re-fret.

This is a great sounding mandolin with a dry, open, and punchy tone. A crisp and fundamental "wood and strings" sound in the best way possible. This mandolin has obviously been played a lot and has a nice aged quality to the sound. A wonderful voice for traditional bluegrass or old-time music. Ample cutting power to be heard in an ensemble of instruments with nice balance across the strings and up the neck. Set up with a nice low action and recently re-fretted with slightly larger sized fret wire than is standard for Gibson mandolins of this era. Flat fretboard, 1-1/16" nut width. Hardshell case included.
