2007 Horner F5

2007 Charles Horner F5 in very good condition. There is one very tight hairline top crack that has been repaired with hide glue. Other than that, just the light scratches and dings associated with most all instruments approaching 20 years of service.

This mandolin has a loud, bright, and clear voice that will no doubt cut the mix of any ensemble of instruments. It leans very hard into the mid-range and treble spectrum so if you are looking for a bass heavy instrument, this is not the one. If you seek clarity and cutting power, then this one has it! The mandolin is set up well and plays good in all positions with no issues. At the price point, this mandolin makes a very attractive small shop alternative to the import models available in this range.

Spruce top, maple back/sides/neck, pearl Fern headstock inlay and logo, Loar style side bound in triple binding, flat ebony fretboard w/scooped extension, ebony adjustable bridge, Schaller tuners w/pearl buttons, slide cover tailpiece, Travelite case. Note: this mandolin was constructed without an adjustable truss rod. The coverplate was added for aesthetics.
