2006 Collings MF5V

2006 Collings MF5V in good condition. This is a mandolin that has been in service for 17 years and there are a lot of scratches, dings, and finish abrasions. None of this is major and the instrument is 100% structurally sound with no cracks or prior repairs, and none needed.

We have always been huge fans of the varnished Collings mandolins and it's always a big treat to get one back in that has really been played over the years. The seasoned, mature tone of this instrument is just incredible. It still retains all of the wonderful brilliance and clarity but has a beautiful warmth, depth, and character that can only come from time and playing. This is a very powerful mandolin that responds wonderfully to a light touch but will "peel the paint" when driven. With any amount of attack or playing style the amazing tone shines through brilliantly. We just performed a full set up to return the mandolin to Collings shop specifications and it plays perfectly in all positions with no issues whatsoever.

Adirondack spruce top, Sugar maple back/sides/neck, varnish finish, gold hardware, Waverly tuners with ebony buttons, ebony fretboard with descending pearl position markers, ebony adjustable bridge, bound ebony pick guard, side bound in grained ivoroid triple binding, one piece cast tailpiece, adjustable truss rod with ebony cover plate, ebony endpin with pearl eye, radiused fretboard, 1-1/8" bone nut. Comes with a TKL (American Vintage Series) hardshell case.
