2003 Gibson F5G in excellent condition. Very minimal signs of prior use and in outstanding shape for a 20+ year old instrument.

Made during the tenure of the late Charlie Derrington, Gibson mandolins of this era saw a return to traditional form and consistently have a wonderful voicing that bluegrass players seem to gravitate toward. The tone is dry and fundamental with ample cutting power to be heard in an ensemble of instruments. The woody, crisp sound of this mandolin seems to be tailor made for bluegrass or old time, but we think its appeal could be appreciated in any genre or style of playing.

Spruce top, maple back/sides/neck, ebony fretboard with pearl position markers, ebony adjustable bridge, gloss lacquer finish, traditional flower pot inlay, ivoroid binding, engraved tailpiece, adjustable truss rod, flat fretboard, scooped fretboard extension, 1-1/16" nut width. Hardshell case included.
