2001 Gibson F5G (modified specs)
2001 Gibson F5G (modified specs)
2001 Gibson F5G in very good condition. Showing some play wear in the form of a few pick marks and minor dings/scratches but 100% structurally sound with no prior repairs and none needed.
A great F5 mandolin from one of the most celebrated eras of Gibson mandolin production, this one has the classic dry, woody, and punchy tone that is particularly coveted by traditional bluegrass players. Great chop and ample cutting power to be heard in any ensemble of instruments. All Gibson mandolins of this era came with flat fretboards but this mandolin has been professionally modified with a new radiused fretboard, nut, and bridge. The fretboard extension was also removed to eliminate "pick click". It has been set-up and plays great in all positions with no issues whatsoever.
Spruce top, maple back/sides/neck, gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, radiused ebony fretboard, ebony bridge, adjustable truss rod, 1-1/16" bone nut. Hardshell case included.
