1998 Martin D-40

1998 Martin D-40 in excellent condition for its age. Small scratches and dings here and there but nothing major or outside of the scope of an instrument that has been in service for over 25 years.

A beautiful looking and sounding Martin dreadnought, the D-40 boasts just enough pearl work to have "the look" without the massive price tag of the pearl-laden D-45 model. Classic Martin tone with the signature big bass response and rich, woody notes. Recently set-up and plays great with nice low action. At one time there was a pickup in place but it has been removed with no evidence other than the strap button endpin jack.

Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, scalloped X-braced, fully bound, tortoise pickguard, ebony fretboard w/pearl hexagon position markers, ebony bridge, pearl CF Martin headstock logo, strap button added at neck heel, 25-1/2" scale length, 1-11/16" nut width. Original hardshell case included.
