1998 Bart Reiter Grand Concert in excellent condition. Only some minimal signs of prior use.

The celebrated banjo builder Bart Reiter is no longer building banjos and this model, the Grand Concert, is exceedingly rare. The model features a Bacon style tone ring housed in an internal resonator and produces a beautiful and unique tone that, while likely most appealing to clawhammer style players, would be quite lovely in many different settings.

The neck was professionally "scooped" by local banjo builder and official Steinway piano restorer Bernard Mollberg. He did a beautiful job and used his unique technique as he does on his own Burning Sun banjos (played by Sarah Jarosz). We believe everything else to be original with perhaps the later addition of a Renaissance head and No Knot tailpiece (to our knowledge, most of these were completed with Fiberskyn heads and Waverly tailpieces). Comes with a nice hardshell case. 26-14" scale length, maple resonator, 1-1/4" bone nut, 11" pot, steel reinforced adjustable neck, maple dowel stick, 24 brackets, 1/2" rim.
