1992 Nugget A5 Deluxe in very good condition considering its age. There are some small dings and scratches but nothing outside of the scope of any instrument over 30 years old that has been in service. Structurally the instrument is perfect.

This mandolin is a shining example of why Mike Kemnitzer is always mentioned at the top of all of the "greatest ever" lists of mandolin builders. Describing tone is always a tricky endeavor but one descriptor we have come across, though rarely use, is "it sounds like ringing a wooden bell". We feel that is a good fit for this instrument. There is just an incredible, fundamental sound of wood and strings in the most delightful way. Its a captivating sound that begs you to play one more song before you put it down. In more technical terms, this mandolin is very powerful and loud and will have no problem at all in any ensemble of instruments. Responsive to a light touch with a beautiful delicate quality, it also exhibits perfect balance both across the string sets as well as up and down the fretboard. Just an incredible experience to hear and play.

We are unsure of all of the technical specs of this instrument but have sent a message to Mr. Kemnitzer and will update if he has further information. Here is what we know: Spruce top, maple back/sides/neck, fully bound in triple grained ivoroid, radisued ebony fretboard with mop position markers, triple bound ebony pick guard, ebony adjustable bridge, adjustable truss rod, Schaller tuners, engraved James tailpiece, 1-3/32" bone nut. Canadian made Calton case included.
