1985 Martin HD-28 Limited Edition

1985 Martin HD28 in very good vintage condition. There are some dings and finish checks but it's in really nice shape for an instrument coming up on 40 years of service. In 1985 Martin produced a "Guitar of the Month" series and this model was December's offering from that series. Our understanding is that less than 100 of this particular model were made. There is an internal label that is signed by both CF Martin III and IV. The neck block is stamped "Limited Edition HD-28". This guitar is modeled much more after a pre-war example than the standard series of this era. Most notably the pre-war style, forward shifted scalloped X bracing pattern. This is an extremely powerful guitar with excellent projection and has a beautiful, seasoned, well balanced tonal character. 1-3/4" nut width, 25.4" scale length. Comes with its original hardshell case from Martin.
