1963 Gibson A-40

1963 Gibson A40 in good vintage condition. It shows its age in the form of many dings, scratches, checking, and finish abrasions but is structurally great with no cracks.

This is a nice little vintage mandolin with a sweet tone and great playability that would make a wonderful alternative to the new instruments available in this price range. These mandolins are not known for having incredible power so they usually aren't preferred by the bluegrass crowd, but it has a very charming and sweet tone all its own with a nice woody quality to the sound. Crisp, clean notes and balanced across the spectrum. It is set-up with a nice low action and plays easily in all positions with no issues. 1-3/16" nut width. Hardshell case included.
