1923 Weymann Style 1 Tenor Banjo

1923 Weymann Style 1 Tenor Banjo in great vintage condiiton. Typical wear for an instrument over 100 years old.

19 frets but this one has the hard-to-find 21 7/8” scale length, much more comfortable than the typical ~23” scale length. The Megaphonic design makes this a great tenor banjo for Irish trad, currently set up in GDAE tuning. The tuners have been upgraded to Rickard 12:1 tuners – the best on the planet for precise, reliable tuning. Frets have been replace with modern banjo-size frets. Scorpion-brand bridge (designed to slant backwards at a slight angle) All other parts are original including the armrest and the tailpiece and its cover. Case is original and in functionally great shape, all latches and hinges work, handle is solid. Outside is a bit beat up, just enough for character. The neck box has been replaced with a larger box (will hold a Cooperstand Mini, which works for this banjo perfectly) and a pad has been added under the tuners.
