1920 Gibson A2

1920 Gibson A2 in good vintage condition. There are two repaired top cracks, and the dings/scratches/scuffs associated with most any 100 year old instrument that has been in service. No seam separations and the arching in the top is perfect.

This is a wonderful old mandolin with an absolutely beautiful tone! It has the coveted deep sound of a good vintage oval hole, but not so much bass response to throw off balance. Deep and rich, but also with crisp clarity and note definition. Set up with a very low action, the mandolin plays beautifully in all positions and is one of the most comfortable vintage Gibson mandolins to come through our shop. 

We believe the instrument is all original with the exception of the pick guard missing, and the tuners were just recently replaced with a set of the Golden Age Restoration tuners. The originals are included and still function, although not as smoothly as the replacements. The original case is included and is in good shape for its age except for the handle being replaced with some "ingenuity". This is a great deal on a great sounding, well set up vintage Gibson A2. Flat fretboard, 1-3/16" nut width.
