1999 Gibson F5-G

1999 Gibson F5G in very good condition. There are multiple minor dings and scratches, but nothing major and nothing outside of the norm for an instrument that has been in service for the past 24 years. No cracks or structural issues. These Charlie Derrington-era mandolins are highly regarded for good reason. This mandolin has that "wooden bell" tone that leans heavily into a dry, fundamental character in the best way possible. Strong and punchy, the tone is classic Gibson F5 with everything centered around the powerful midrange.

This one just received a full re-fret with EVO frets along with a set up. It plays beautifully in all positions with no issues whatsoever. The fretboard extension has been removed to eliminate pick clicking, and the finish removed from the back of the neck to make a speed neck. The tailpiece is a vintage style "The Gibson" replacement. Flat fretboard, 1-1/16" nut width. Comes with a very nice Ameritage hardshell case.
